Why Am I Armed? (Demo)
A downloadable game for Windows, Linux, and Android
What if nobody was born with arms, but instead they were handed out to those with either the money or the status to acquire them. This bizarre concept and more will be explored in the game:

What is this?
Why Am I Armed? is an RPG game that has the player explore a slightly odd world, while sometimes getting into fights with the ones who live there. Meet the nose goblins, who reside in the game's first area: The Nose Forest.
Playtime: Around 1 hour
When will the full game come out?
Hard to say since there is only one developer working on this on his spare time. But I'm aiming for early 2024 hopefully, though time will tell.
How is this being made?
I'm using RPG maker 2003, which quite a limited program, but it has forced me to keep the scope smaller and has made me come up with some creative solutions to problems that other programs maybe wouldn't.
All the art, music and sound effects are made by me, and is a bit of a creative puke I pieced together into a game.
Influences?
Some players may notice some similarites to other games, so I'll list some games that have inspired me in the creations of my games/music. Games such as Other: Her loving embrace, OFF, Space funeral, Deltarune/Undertale, IB and Yume Nikki are some examples. OFF especially has influenced my worldbuilding, and some of my design choices. The games I listed are all games with a small team behind them, which results in games the developers have poured a lot of themselves into. That is what I wish to do with this game, but with me and my silly little brain! :)

Found the demo and gamejolt and played it there, this game is really cool! Very much reminiscent of the games you listed as inspirations, in the best possible way (I also just really like RPG Maker games, heh). The music is good too. Like, REALLY good. My one suggestion would be making the selection color brighter, it's a little hard to see what option you're hovering over in battle. Other than that, this was very fun! Will definitely play the full game when it comes out :)
Loved the demo :) Especially the music. Looking forward to the full release. Also, not sure if it was intentional, but I found a typo, after getting the music turned down, the enemies in the club say „I don't have the same urge yo attack you, so I'll ask politely.”

So I fought the first boss, and my current thoughts on the game is that it is a lovely piece. I do hope you will further explore the humanity of Blanket Person, or as I named them, Snob* 77** as I forgot for RPG maker games the X button is backspace. As I felt, Blanket Person is a stranger in a very strange land, and took to the world very quickly. I haven't left Nose Forest yet, but I hope to see more color in the game as we go on, even if it's just 2 main ones per area, but that is an artistic opinion of mine, not a critique. I'll be following for future updates, good luck on development!
Thank you for your feedback! The full game will definitely explore more of blanket person as well as the whole cast. And each area will have its own color scheme and such, so the teal trees of the forest won't be seen much after Nose Forest. Thank you for playing, it means a lot!
Funny game, great music - very creative
Sorry this isn't the feedback you would like, this game seems SUPER up my alley, but the download isn't working for me. I tried the alternative mode as suggested by itch, but it doesn't seem to work. Do you have any fixes?
